Giveaway #6 – 90 Minutes in Heaven

*This giveaway has ended!
Winning entry was #2 – Rochelle Wheat!*

Have you ever wondered if there really is life after death?
Does Heaven really exist?
Do you believe that God still performs miracles today?

Based on the real life of Don Piper, 90 Minutes in Heaven gives you a glimpse into what it is like to die … and then come back.

Book Summary:

“After a semi-truck collided with Don Piper’s car, he was pronounced dead at the scene. For the next ninety minutes, he experienced the glories of heaven. Back on earth, a passing minister felt led to stop and pray for the accident victim even though he was told Piper was dead. Miraculously, Piper came back to life, and the pleasure of heaven was replaced by a long and painful recovery.

This special edition of Don’s life-changing story includes a new preface from Don about the making of the movie, plus a personal update on the impact the book has had on him, his family, and the millions who have already heard his story. It also includes a note from the publisher, stories from readers, and Scriptures and quotations on heaven.”

To enter this giveaway, simply leave a comment and let me know what’s on your book shelf right now.  As always, make sure to use a valid email address, as that is how the winner will be contacted.

My personal thoughts about the book:

There are lots of little gems to be found in this book, but I have to admit that I was thinking it was mostly going to be about the time that Mr. Piper spent in Heaven. While that was briefly discussed, it was really more about his recovery, and how God used his accident to be able to help others down the road.

While those are obviously incredibly important things – and I am certainly not trying to undermine any of that – my perception about what the book was about and what it actually was, left me a little disappointed. I was so looking forward to detailed descriptions of Heaven! lol

I think if you go into the book knowing that it is more of  a story of perserverance & faith, and how with God at our side we can overcome just about anything, you will be more prepared for what Mr. Piper has written about.

Don’t forget to watch the trailer below. The movie releases in theaters on  Sept. 11, 2015!
