Today was a very restful Sunday. While I know it is not technically the Sabbath, it is usually a good day of rest for us. After church we generally grab a quick bite to eat, and then simply relax for the rest of the day.
Have you ever noticed how Sunday and family seem to go hand in hand? Whether you are enjoying an actual activity with family, or chilling out at home, Sunday seems to be *the* day for families to get together. At least it is in our house.
This Sunday, Derek and I ordered Chinese food from one of our favorite restaurants, and after lunch took a couple of hours to piddle around with our favorite hobbies. Derek played his guitar for a bit, and I worked on some graphic art. Draylen was over at a friends house for a while, and then had another of his friends over later in the evening.
Around 5:30 or so, Rachel and Richard came over. We popped some popcorn, and settled in to watch one of the silliest movies ever … Nacho Libre! The movie is so ridiculous, but there are parts in there that make all of us laugh at one point or another. Definitely a dumb humor movie. lol
I was going to take a photo of Rachel holding the movie to use as my photo for today, (because she just looooves this flick!), but I forgot to get the picture before she left. What you see here on the left is what I came up with instead – our movie sitting in our big bowl of popcorn! I think it still manages to capture the moment, but it would have been nicer to have Rachel in the photo as well. And yes … that *is* my Christmas tree in the background. Wonder how long it will be up this year? :)
I finished off my Sunday by coming upstairs and listening to some worship music. I even put up one of my favorite Carman songs for you all in my sidebar, in case you would like to enjoy it too. Sunday School Rock is one of Carman’s “fun” songs that I have always liked. Love the 50′s feel to it!
How do you normally spend your Sunday? Let me know. I would love to hear what your Sunday traditions are!
It’s time for me to say good night now, but I will see you all tomorrow!
