Journaling My Way Through 2012

Tomorrow begins the year of 2012. Wow! It’s hard to believe sometimes that I have already been on this earth for 40 years. Most of the time I still feel like I am 20, so it is strange to think I have hit my “middle age” years. How exactly did that happen so quickly??

Anyway, I have a few things I want to accomplish this year. Not as your typical “resolutions”, but simply because it is time.

I have decided to journal my way through 2012 so that I can look back and see how much the Lord has worked in my life, how many of my goals I have accomplished, and even what I might still need to work on.

I am going to start out by making the first page of my journal a list of my goals, hopes, and dreams. I may not accomplish all of them this year, but at least it will be a starting point. :)

Some of them I will share on my blog, others I am going to keep to myself. Some things just need to remain personal.

I *am* going to share my first goal with you, because I am going to need all the prayer I can get! lol

I am going to quit smoking.

I’m not going to try … I’m going to do it. (I can do all things through Him who strengthens me! Philippians 4:13)

So starting tomorrow morning, I would sure appreciate any and all prayers you are willing to send up! Derek is going to be quitting with me as well, so our household might be a tad on the cranky side for the next week.

*Side note: Draylen; just remember … this is what you have been asking for! ;)

Do you have any changes you want to make in your life this year? If so, leave me a comment! I would love to encourage you and pray for you throughout your journey through 2012 as well!

Blessings for a wonderful new year ~

  1. Tori, I am definitely keeping you in my prayers as you and Derek quit smoking. I know you both will feel so much better afterwards. You can do it. :)

    • Thank you, Dianna! I know we will too. It’s been such a struggle. I’ve tried to quit many times, but this time, I am simply going to do it. No more stressing out about it, wondering if I can, etc … I’ve made up my mind, and I am ready to be healthy! Thanks so much for your prayers! (((Hugs)))
